A WORKING MOM'S STORY
Modern Group Senior PM Ivy Cheng was born Cheng Jiao in central China in Yueyang City, Hunan Province. In 2010, Ivy graduated from Hunan Institute of Science and Technology University with a major in Business English. In search of more opportunities, Ivy left Hunan Province and landed a job as an entry-level bidding & proposals manager in Foshan City, Guangdong. After training in steel structures for a year, Ivy worked as a production planner in Fujian before joining Fabtrol in Shanghai. Fabtrol was a software company that offered integrated steel fabrication and project management solutions.
In October 2014, Ivy joined Modern Group as a junior project manager who quickly gained experience and was assigned to Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) fabrication management. Ivy has gone on to manage more than 100 units of HRSG deliveries, exceeding 80,000 metric tons of commodities. Ivy assists the CEO with professional functions, contributes to social event planning, and attends international power exhibitions. In December 2019, Ivy gave birth to a son and took maternity leave to enjoy her new duties being a mommy. With such a busy schedule and the pressure of being a new mother, there were many days when Ivy had to weigh the choice of returning to work or not.
However, in the Spring of 2020 Ivy was back in control again. Modern Group salutes Ivy Cheng for her dedication, diligence, and loyal work ethic. Ivy is a customer-favorite project manager who can always be relied upon when performance counts.
