North Field Expansion Project
MMEC has begun steel fabrication of Phase 1 of the North Feild LNG expansion project. This project will deliver trains 8~11, making up the four new mega trains of the NFE project. Qatar Petroleum awarded the expansion of its giant North Field to a joint venture of Japan's Chiyoda Corp. and Technip. The expansion project will cost $28.75 billion, making it one of the world's most significant energy projects.
MMEC's scope includes four trains of the LNG plant steel structures, pipe racks, platforms, secondary steel, equipment supports, gratings, and related structural steel.
